Teacher Retirement System of Texas
At Houston Classical Charter School, we believe in providing long-term stability for the dedicated professionals who serve our scholars. All eligible employees participate in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas pension plan, which is a defined benefit plan. This means your retirement benefit is determined by a formula established by Texas law to provide a guaranteed lifetime annuity, rather than being based on your account balance. Unlike a traditional 401(k), TRS provides reliable, state-backed retirement security and reflects our commitment to building sustainable careers for educators who are invested in making a lasting impact.
Teacher Incentive Allotment
Houston Classical Charter School is a fully approved Teacher Incentive Allotment district. TIA rewards and retains highly effective educators by providing a direct path to a six-figure salary while remaining in the classroom.
Why TIA is a Game Changer for Our Teachers:
Substantial Compensation Boost: Teachers who earn a designation (Recognized, Exemplary, or Master) can generate an extra $3,000 to over $32,000 annually, depending on the designation level and campus.
Focus on Growth: Designations are based on classroom observations and individual scholar growth, meaning your day-to-day impact in the classroom is what drives your reward.
At Houston Classical, we believe outstanding teaching deserves outstanding compensation. Join our team and get recognized for your impact.
